About

Who We Are

Meet the team, a dedicated and dynamic group of researchers united by a shared mission to advance the search for life beyond Earth.

Our team spans expertise across a wide range of areas in exoplanet science, including state-of-the-art observations of exoplanetary atmospheres, robust atmospheric retrieval frameworks, as well as detailed theoretical modeling of physical and chemical processes in exoplanetary atmospheres, interiors, and oceans. Our team has made pioneering contributions to atmospheric characterisation of exoplanets, including the first detections of carbon bearing molecules in potentially habitable exoplanets.

Professor, University of Cambridge

Nikku Madhusudhan

Team lead, Prof. Nikku Madhusudhan, is a Professor of Astrophysics and Exoplanetary Science at the Institute of Astronomy at the University of Cambridge. He is widely known for pioneering atmospheric retrieval methods for exoplanets, along with various theoretical and observational developments in the field over the last two decades, and for the conception and development of the hycean paradigm in the search for life elsewhere.
