Currently, little is known about hycean worlds.[1] Through theoretical research into their interiors and atmospheres, scientists aim to determine the conditions for habitability and potential biosignatures. This work will help establish expectations for what a hycean world might look like from afar. Observing these worlds with adequate signal-to-noise ratios will require the most advanced telescopes, such as the James Webb Space Telescope and extremely large ground-based telescopes.
